Who We Are
Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. From the moment we started in 2022, we understood that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Pride In The Port. We strive to make a positive change in all of our pursuits.
What We Do
Pride In The Port champions LGBTQ+ inclusivity in Newport through a series of targeted initiatives. We organise a diverse range of events, including sober socials, LGBTQ+ book discussions, and queer speed dating, aimed at creating safe, expressive venues for community engagement. Additionally, our Business Support programme offers LGBTQ+ awareness training to local businesses, encouraging them to join our Pride In the Port campaign for a more inclusive community. The highlight of our efforts is the annual free pride celebration, a vibrant event that unites music, activities, and food to celebrate diversity and equality. Through these actions, Pride In The Port actively fosters a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone in Newport.
